Saturday Morning

Our theme verse for this mission trip is Psalm 67.

1 God be gracious to us and bless us,
And cause His face to shine upon us— Selah.
2 That Your way may be known on the earth,
Your salvation among all nations.
3 Let the peoples praise You,
O God; Let all the peoples praise You.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy;
For You will judge the peoples with uprightness
And guide the nations on the earth. Selah.
5 Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.
6 The earth has yielded its produce;
God, our God, blesses us.
7 God blesses us,
That all the ends of the earth may fear Him.

Psalms 67:1-7 (NASB)

What a wonderful Psalm! Here the Psalmist is thinking of a time when all the world will praise the Lord. I love that he used the word “peoples.” Usually, we understand the word people as plural. The Psalmist here is talking about all the people groups around the world.

There will be a time when not just all nations will praise Him but all the people groups. It will be an incredible sight.

We have arrived in another city. The hotel where we are staying is dedicated and ran by one of the regional people groups. The hotel employees have on the traditional dress. The restaurant only serves that people group’s traditional food. We’re also enjoying the traditional no air conditioning. (It’s 80 in my room at 5AM!) It’s really special.

We will have the opportunity to observe literally dozens of people groups this week. Can you imagine the sight when all people groups, perhaps in their traditional dress gather to praise the King of Kings! What a special day that will be!

Until that day arrives, may we work without ceasing to share Jesus with those who do not know Him! I want the Russians, the Chinese, the Brazilians, the Kenyans and Ethiopians at that celebration. I want the Moldavians, the Spaniards and the Mexicans at that celebration. (We’ll even take the Scottish!) I also want those from Charlotte, Matthews, Mint Hill. Waxhaw and Pineville there. We have a lot to do!

Let us not rest till all the peoples praise Him!
